Anne Curtis says she’s proud to be a Filipino
Kapamilya actress-host Anne Curtis shared her thoughts on the “halfie” issue, and netizens expressed various reactions to this.
Anne is one of the prettiest faces in the Philippine entertainment industry. She is among the many “halfies” in showbiz.
She is half-Filipina, half-Australian. Anne rose to fame through the movie Magic Kingdom in 1997. From that, she was given opportunities in the entertainment industry when it came to her acting and hosting career.

Anne Curtis, a known “Dyosa” in showbiz, is also acceptable as a singer. She already had several shows and concerts, not just in the Philippines, but also abroad.
The Kapamilya actress continues to reap the fruit of her success. Just recently, a media conference was held where she announced her upcoming projects.
During the interview, she was also asked about the recent “halfie” issue because of what Mister Supranational Philippines 2024 Brandon Espiritu said. He said in a comment that the Philippines has no chance on the international stage if not because of halfies like them.

Because of this, Brandon received negative comments, and several personalities also shared their thoughts on this, such as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee.
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda had a funny reaction to this as he said that he is also a halfie, which is half-Filipino, half-filter.
When asked about this issue, Anne Curtis said, “Everyone has their own opinion, but I will always be proud to be Filipino.” She also said that whenever she is on a global stage, she is representing the Philippines.
Even though she is also proud of being a half-Australian, which is her father’s side, she is also proud to be a Filipino.
This was shared on a popular showbiz site, and not all comments are on her side. Some netizens pointed out that even though she has been in the Philippines practically more than half of her life, she still can’t speak straight Filipino and is still unaware of some cultural references. Here are some comments.
