James Reid shared his decision to take a break from acting
Kapamilya actor James Reid returned to the small screen through the series Someone, Someday after taking a break from acting for quite some time.
James rose to fame through the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother. Aside from acting, he also ventured into music, and eventually, he established his own music label, which became a talent management company.
In a recent interview, as reported by ABS-CBN Entertainment, he discussed his decision to take a break from acting.
James Reid shared that his acting hiatus allowed him to rediscover that creative side of himself. The actor said he always wanted to return to acting, whether it’s TV or film, but he also needed a break, even just for a while.
“I started so young so and I just wanted to just discover more, especially with music. I am really grateful I had that time to just breathe, and be creative, and try new things,” James shared.
Then, the actor shared the factor that led him to his acting comeback. For him, it is the right time. “It was really not about the fame or the projects or anything. It was really just about me doing my best, and it felt like the right time to come back and try again,” the Kapamilya star said.
When it comes to his experience working on his new series, James said that it is fulfilling and educational. He also said that he is picking up where he left off. For him, he would always see himself as a student not just in acting but also in life.
James also admitted that he still has so many things to learn in acting. “I am picking up so many things from Kathryn (Bernardo), I am picking up so much things from the directors, direk Chard (Vidanes) and direk Dolly (Dulu). For me, it is a very organic learning process too. It took a while for me to warm up to it again, but it feels like I never left,” the Kapamilya actor said.
In Someone, Someday, which is about modern relationships shaped by dating apps, James Reid gave life to the character of Jordan, who is the ultimate best friend.
