DOE Expect Another Oil Price Rollback Next Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Various gasoline stations in the country are set to impose another oil price rollback starting next week.
Filipino motorists may soon get another break as fuel prices are expected to go down again next week. Early estimates show that diesel could drop by around P18.50 per liter, but full-week projections suggest the decrease may reach as much as P24 to P26 per liter.
Gasoline prices may also fall by about P2.50 to P3.50 per liter, while kerosene could go down by around P3 per liter.

The possible rollback follows last week’s major price cuts, where diesel prices were already reduced by more than P20 per liter. It signals a continuing trend after several weeks of steep increases that pushed fuel prices to very high levels.
Despite these back-to-back rollbacks, overall fuel costs remain much higher compared to earlier months. The expected decrease is linked to improving conditions in the global oil market. Tensions in the Middle East have started to ease, helping stabilize fuel supply.
Even with the expected cuts, fuel prices are still likely to stay high. Diesel, which currently ranges from P120 to P127 per liter, may still remain above P100 per liter after the rollback. Gasoline prices are also expected to stay within the P80 range.

Many drivers continue to feel the pressure of high fuel costs. While the upcoming rollback offers some relief, some motorists believe that bigger price reductions are still needed to return to more affordable levels.
Fuel companies are expected to announce the official price changes on Monday, with adjustments taking effect on Tuesday. For now, drivers remain hopeful that the downward trend will continue in the coming weeks.
