Sen. Imee Marcos Claims PBBM Allegedly Has Cabinet Secretaries, Appointees Past 1 Year Already
IMEE MARCOS – The presidential Sister and Senator questioned the number of “acting” Cabinet secretaries and appointees of her brother, President Bongbong Marcos.
Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government, Sen. Marcos aligned herself with the Duterte family. She is one of those government officials who are vocal about her disappointment on the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Following the arrest and the transfer of the custody of Duterte to the ICC, Sen. Marcos immediately left the senatorial slate of her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, to campaign independently. She was endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in several campaign events.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also previously claimed that even former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte said that Sen. Imee Marcos is “sincere” in her friendship with his daughter. Pres. Bongbong Marcos was heavily blamed over the arrest and the transfer of the custody of the former President to the foreign court.

In the late months of 2025, in front of thousands of members of the Iglesia ni Cristo, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly using illegal drugs. Such testimony earned PBBM massive criticisms and the Palace defended the President.

According to Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, Sen. Imee Marcos allegedly did it against Pres. Bongbong Marcos for the advantage of her fellows in “Team ITIM” — seemingly referring to the Senator’s campaign add with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
The Presidential Sister did not directly called for the resignation of her brother at the rally but asked him to go home and get some treatment. The Senator also accused her brother’s wife, First Lady Liza Marcos, of being allegedly into illegal drug use as well.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos questioned the number of the acting secretaries and appointees in the Marcos Jr. Cabinet. Based on News5, the presidential Sister stressed that PBBM’s Cabinet secretaries and appointees are mostly in an “acting” status.
“Napakarami ng Cabinet-level na mga secretary at appointee ng Presidente na puro acting… Siyam na sila sa bilang ko,” Sen. Marcos said.
Furthermore, based on the post, Sen. Imee Marcos also claimed that some of the acting Cabinet secretaries and appointees of Pres. Bongbong Marcos are already past a year. She slammed that they are allegedly “overacting” already.
“‘Yung iba, paso na sa one year, hindi na siya temporary, overacting na ‘yun,” the Senator said.
Previously, amid the rumors that she might be the running mate of the Vice President in 2028, Sen. Imee Marcos reacted to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s announcement of her 2028 bid for president.
