Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos Tandem for 2028?
IMEE MARCOS – The presidential sister and Senator reacted to the announcement of the presidential bid of Vice President Sara Duterte for 2028.
Amid the impeachment raps against her, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently announced that she will run for president in 2028. According to her, she realized that her life is actually not just hers as she admitted that she has questioned the weight of the responsibilities of a president for a long time.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that she saw the unfaithfulness of Pres. Bongbong Marcos towards his promises to the people. According to the daughter of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, it was her decision to really leave the Marcos Jr. Cabinet despite the knowledge that it will supposedly lead to her impeachment.
The Vice President also once again apologized for endorsing Marcos Jr. during the 2022 Elections. They made a victorious tandem that won millions of Filipinos with their platform of unity.
“Patawad kung tinulungan kong mahalal si BBM bilang pangulo ng ating bansa,” Duterte said.
Amid the controversial arrest and transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos chose to align herself with the Dutertes. She stressed that she could not accept what was done to the former President.
Sen. Imee Marcos has also publicly accused PBBM of allegedly using illegal drugs. Such allegation was a ground cited in the impeachment raps that were recently filed against the President. The House of Representatives dismissed the complaints for its insufficiency in substance.
Recently, following the Vice President’s announcement, minority Sen. Robin Padilla flaunted that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is his president and Sen. Imee Marcos is her vice president. He had previously campaigned for the Sara-Imee tandem in Malaysia several months ago.
Sen. Imee Marcos was asked about her possible tandem with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on ABS-CBN News, the presidential sister stressed that Vice Pres. Duterte is her “forever running mate” while she did not confirm their possible tandem in the 2028 Elections.
“Diyos ko, si Robin talaga. Well, kung sa bagay, talagang forever running mate ko naman talaga ‘yan. Ah takbo, gapang, luhod, ah patayo, paupo, hindi ko naman siya kailanman iniwanan,” Marcos said.
Furthermore, during the interview, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that the presidential bid announcement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte allegedly gives hope to the Filipino people. According to the presidential Sister, she will just keep on following the Vice President.
“Hello, basta sunod-sunoran ako dun. Maganda ‘yan kasi nabibigyan ng pag-asa ang lahat ng tao dahil napakahirap ng panahon ang gulo-gulo ng gobyerno napaka-korap at wala pa ring china-charge, eh talagang ang tao galit na galit na, naghihirap kaya maganda na kahit papanu meron tayong pag-asa, meron tayong pinanghahawakan,” the Senator said.
Recently, the Malacañang Palace reacted to the presidential aspiration of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
