Ai-Ai delas Alas has a major reason to celebrate her freedom
Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas is tasting her freedom now as she is officially divorced from Gerald Sibayan.
Ai-Ai’s breakup with Gerald became the talk of the town in 2024. They had been married for 10 years, and they started living in the US. The comedienne revealed that Gerald broke up with her through a text message while she was in the Philippines.
Ai-Ai received support from her fans and fellow celebrities while she was moving on from the breakup.
Back in November last year, Ai-Ai delas Alas revealed that she revoked Gerald Sibayan’s green card petition. She admitted that she initially did not want to do that, but eventually, she thought that even though it may sound bad, this could just be her way to do her “ganti.”
On March Marso 9, 2026, based on the article in PEP, Aui-Ai delas Alas has received a decision from the Superior Court of California, County of San Joaquin, regarding the divorce she filed for in March 2025.
When asked about her reactions to this, the comedienne said it’s “Freedom!” “Happy ako dahil single na uli ako. Parang half na nabubuo na ulit ako bilang Martina Eileen delas Alas. Wala nang Sibayan,” she said. Ai-Ai added that she is just waiting for this so that she can apply for a church annulment.
The comedienne shared that she wanted to celebrate her freedom in the US as she is ready to “restart” her life. This was one of the steps that she did to revoke the Petition for Alien Relative she applied for Gerald.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service ( USCIS) released this decision on March 17, 2025. It was said that the “third party” that Ai-Ai discovered in their relationship was the reason she cited for the revocation of the petition.
