Katrina Halili talked about her daughter
Kapuso actress Katrina Halili was emotional while talking about being a mother to her 13-year-old daughter Katie, who has special needs.
Katie is Katrina’s daughter with her former partner, R&B singer Kris Lawrence. The former couple has received praise for their good parenting setup. They would even spend time together for their daughter.
In a recent vlog on her YouTube channel, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Katrina said she felt guilty when she did not have time for Katie.
The Kapuso actress could not help but be emotional as she talked about her daughter. For her, one of the most difficult parts of her co-parenting setup with her former partner is when she lacks time for Katie.
After being part of the Kapuso talent search StarStruck back in 2003, Katrina Halili almost did not stop doing teleseryes. She continued receiving projects after she gave birth to Katie in September 2012.
When it comes to Katie, Katrina’s motherly instinct is really strong. “Iisipin mo na, ano kayang mangyayari kay Katie ‘pag nawala ako? Tapos lagi ‘yan tititigan ko si Katie, sasabihin ko wala akong laging oras sa ‘yo,” she said.
The actress also pointed out that she needs to earn money by working hard in her career as an actress. She said that if only she had enough money, she would no longer work and just be there with her daughter.
Katrina Halili also shared that she would always apologize to Katie every time she is busy and cannot spend time with her daughter.
“Ang dami ko ding pagkukulang kay Katie, as in nagso-sorry ako. Anak, sorry talaga. Sorry kung wala akong time. Wala akong oras sa ‘yo, kung inuna ko yung trabaho pero wala rin kasi akong choice e,” the actress said.
The actress added that there was no manual for women after they give birth on how to be a mother, and so this is a learning process.
