SP Tito Sotto Confirms Curlee Discaya Brought to Hospital
CURLEE DISCAYA – The controversial contractor was brought to the hospital today due to concerns about his painful shoulder.
The supposed multi-billion flood control mess in the Philippines left countless Filipinos calling for accountability. Several incumbent officials of the government were tagged in the corruption issue.
Thousands of people joined the street protest to rally against corruption in the government. The so-called Trillion Peso March was held twice last year as the Filipinos demand justice. Several showbiz celebrities even joined the protest rallies.
Aside from the many members of the House of Representatives and some senators, some contractors were also linked to the controversial flood control mess. Among those who caught national attention are Curlee Discaya and his wife, Sarah Discaya, who pleaded to corruption and malversation charges filed against her. Both of them are currently detained.
Curlee Discaya is detained under the custody of the Senate for several months now while his wife, Sarah, is currently detained in the Lapu-Lapu City Jail. The Discaya matriarch was vocal that her main concern amid everything that is happening are their children.
Amid the issue, several luxury cars of the Discayas were transferred under the custody of the Bureau of Customs. The BOC even auctioned some of the luxury cars of the Discayas. Recently, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto spoke about the Discaya patriarch who is detained in the Senate.
Based on a report on GMA News, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto revealed that Curlee Discaya was brought to the hospital today due to concerns about his painful shoulder. The Senate Chief assured that the embattled contractor has already been returned to the premises of the chamber where he is detained since September 2025.
“I was told MRI ‘yung frozen shoulder na masakit. In and out lang,” Sotto said.
Based on the report, the Senate detention of Curlee Discaya started when he was cited in contempt during one of the flood control hearings of the Blue Ribbon Committee. It was over the reason behind the absence of his wife at the inquiry.
Previously, some of the luxury cars of the Discayas were up for auction. Prominent game show host Willie Revillame was one of those who bid for the 2023 Rolls-Royce Cullinan of the contractor couple.
