Kathryn Bernardo Standee Disrespected by Men in Moalboal, Cebu
Several men disrespected the standee of Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo at a branch of BPI in Moalboal, Cebu.
Recently, a Threads user, @dee_tabanag, shared photos showing the men allegedly acting inappropriately toward the actress’s standee. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions from the online community.
The incident reportedly happened at a branch of Bank of the Philippine Islands in Moalboal, Cebu on February 20. The life-size standee of Kathryn Bernardo was displayed inside the bank when the men were seen posing with it in a way that many people found disrespectful.

Many expressed disappointment and frustration, saying that even if the image was only a cardboard cutout, the behavior still reflected a lack of respect.
Several netizens pointed out that the issue was not about the standee itself, but about the mindset behind the actions. For them, treating even a simple display in a disrespectful way raised concerns about how some people view and treat women in real life.
Others also reacted strongly to comments brushing the incident off as a joke, saying that calling it humor does not remove the meaning behind the act.

The original uploader also compared the situation to other bank branches where people took decent and respectful photos with the standee. The difference in behavior became part of the discussion, with many asking for accountability.
One of the men in the photos was identified by netizens, while the identity of the other is still being determined. As of this writing, the bank has not released any official statement regarding the incident.

Another netizen reported the photos with a caption: “Republic Act 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) protects women from sexual harassment in public and online. But laws mean nothing if we still normalize disrespect.Women deserve safety. Everywhere.”
