Malacañang Reacts To Photo Questioning Whether Marcos Jr. Has Colon Cancer

Statement of Malacañang on Rumored Colon Cancer of Marcos Jr.

Malacañang reacted to a photo posted by Harry Roque questioning whether President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has colon cancer.

A few weeks ago, many supporters of Pres. Bongbong Marcos were left worried and curious after the Palace announced that he spent the night under a medical observation. The President was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center after experiencing some discomfort.

Shortly after he was discharged from the hospital, through a video message, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he was diagnosed with diverticulitis, a health condition characterized by an inflammation or infection in the large intestine. The President associated his health condition with aging and stress.

According to Malacañang, the doctors of Pres. Bongbong Marcos have advised him to slow down after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis. However, he insisted that there are a lot of things that need to be done.

Marcos Jr. claimed that he is not one of those people who can rest. To meet his doctors’ advice halfway, he limited his engagement in Malacañang Palace for a few days. Several rumors followed the hospitalization of the President.

There were even rumors that the President allegedly died which was of course junked by the Palace and Marcos Jr. himself. He even left a message for those who are eager to oust him from his position not to be too excited.

Recently, based on a report on GMA News, Malacañang reacted to the photo questioning whether Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has colon cancer. The said photo was reportedly posted by former presidential spokesman Harry Roque.

Roque who is currently in The Hague, Netherlands amid a pending arrest warrant issued by a local Philippine court against him has repeatedly called for the resignation of the President. According to him, he will only return to the country after the term of the Chief Executive ends.

Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro dismissed the rumors that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly has colon cancer as “fake news”. Based on the report, she stressed that the downside of such “rumor” is its effects on the image of the Chief Executive and the country’s economy.

“Ang masama po sa mga ganitong tsismis at haka-haka, wala naman pong katotohanan, nakakasira sa gobyerno at sa Pangulo at maaari pang makaapekto sa ekonomiya,” Castro said.

The Malacañang official called Harry Roque allegedly a “fake news peddler”. According to Castro, such rumor was already disproved by a video showing the President raising his hands as he waived to the people at a public event.

Previously, Harry Roque expressed his belief that a hospital is allegedly being built inside the Malacañang Palace for Marcos Jr.
