Anne Curtis Reacts To Netizen Who Questioned Her Explanation About Controversial Incident

Netizens recalled this past issue about Anne Curtis

Kapamilya acterss-host Anne Curtis reacted to a netizen who questioned her statement regarding the controversial incident that happened more than a decade ago.

To recall back in 2013, JR Isaac, editor and publisher of Circuit Magazine, claimed that he, his friend Leah de Guzman, and A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz was slapped by Anne at a club.

The It’s Showtime host was also accused of ranting at TV host Phoemela Baranda, saying, “I can buy you, your friends, and this club.” Back then, Phoemela has denied that Anne has said that line, that has now become iconic, but the TV host did not deny that there was a commotion that happened.

JR said in his 2013 statement published by PEP, that he later on received a text message from Anne apologizing for what happened. The magazine said that he accepted Anne’s apology.

In a recent interview on Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast, Anne Curtis clarified that she never said those lines. However, she also did not deny that an unexpected incident happened at the club back then.

After her recent statement about this, the Kapamilya actress-host received a comment from a netizen questioning what she said during the podcast interview.

“So are you now claiming that JR Isaaz–one of the three people you slapped, including John Lloyd Cruz–was lying, @annecurtissmith?” the netizen posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The netizen also said, “Pretty and tisay privilege is real. If it were another female celebrity who did that, she would be forever labeled palengkera, squammy, and classless.”

Anne replied to this. She said that some of the things that JR said were true and she owned up to it. The actress-host also stressed that she apologized to those involved and she also received an apology back.

But most importantly, I learned my lesson from it. I’m just talking about the famous line and what my friends told me,” she stressed.

Anne Curtis also pointed out this incident happened a long time ago and those involved are in good terms. “But anyway, line is so iconic so I’ll just own it. Kaya ok lang sabihin nyo ng paulit paulit na sinabu ko. Ok na [white heart emoji,” the acterss-host wrote.
