Authorities Arrest Public School Teacher in Drug Buy-Bust Operation
A public school teacher and his live-in partner were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, Davao de Oro.
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao de Oro carried out the operation around 2:00 in the afternoon, with support from the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office and the Compostela Municipal Police Station. The teacher was identified only by the alias Elmer, a 51-year-old man currently working at a public school. He was arrested together with his live-in partner, identified as Jenny.

According to the authorities, the teacher allegedly sold illegal drugs to an undercover agent who posed as a buyer. The transaction led to the immediate arrest of both suspects at the scene. The arrest has drawn attention and concern from the community.
During the operation, authorities confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated value of around P110,000. Investigators also found evidence that the live-in partner allegedly helped and acted as an accomplice in the illegal activity taking place in the area.
Both suspects are expected to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They remain detained while authorities prepare the filing of formal complaints in court.
