Gretchen Barretto Says No To Showbiz Comeback

This is why Gretchen Barretto has no plans of coming back.

Gretchen Barretto chooses to live a peaceful and quiet life rather than return to the local show business scene.

Amid the arrest warrant of Atong Ang, Gretchen Barretto was spotted at the Summer Palace in EDSA Shangri-La, Mandaluyong. In the same incident, she was asked about returning to the show business industry.

According to her, what she chooses now is a peaceful and quiet life. She’d rather stay away from the limelight than go back to show business, where she would only always be chased by controversies and intrigues.

She agreed that in her chosen life, there are “no more problems, no more unnecessary stress.”

To recall, she was also dragged into the missing sabungeros case. However, based on a previous article, the criminal case filed against Barretto was junked by the Department of Justice (DOJ) related to the missing sabungeros.

The DOJ resolution noted that Patidongan “merely alleged that these persons attended meetings where decisions were supposed to be made to ‘punish’ cheating sabungeros,” and that there is “no showing that they gave direct orders, participated in logistics, or had knowledge of the specific abductions.”

The meetings claimed by the whistleblower were not supported by documents, recordings, or independent witnesses.

Meanwhile, Ang faces kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping cases before three Regional Trial Courts: Lipa City in Batangas and Sta. Cruz and San Pablo in Laguna. These charges are not bailable, and as of this writing, he remains at large while a manhunt has been launched following the arrest order.

Co-accused Police Lt. Col. Ryan Jay Orapa; Executive M/Sgt. Aaron Cabillan; Senior M/Sgts. Mark Anthony Aguilo Manrique, Anderson Abary and Joey Encarnacion, alias Enca; M/Sgts. Michael Claveria, also known as Mike Claveria, and Renan Fulgencio; S/Sgts. Edmon Muñoz and Alfredo Andres and Cpl. Farvy de la Cruz were already arrested.

Ang’s supposed subordinates Rogelio Borican Jr., Jezrel Mahilum, Mark Carlo Zabala, Rodelo Anig-ig, Emman Falle, Julios Gumolon and Ronquillo Pacot Anding were also arrested already.
