Respecting one’s time is essential regardless of status, position, or personal relationship, as it reflects basic courtesy and professionalism. Being on time is an admirable trait, especially in a work setting.
For Marian Rivera, punctuality is also a top priority. When she is working, what she dislikes the most is dealing with people who arrive late and those who fail to respect and value other people’s time, especially that of the staff.
As for her, she can confidently say that she was never late when she was working. The people she has worked with can attest to this because she always arrives ahead of time. The actress can tolerate those who forget their lines, and she can even adjust for other people, but what she can never tolerate is working with someone who is always late.
“Alam ng lahat ng katrabaho ko kung ano ‘yong ayaw ko talaga. Parang kaya kong mag-adjust kung hindi mo kayang magbigay, na gusto mo ikaw lagi ang bida, that’s fine with me. Hindi mo alam ‘yung lines mo, okay lang sa akin ‘yun. Bahala ka. Basta ginagawa mo ‘yung work mo, gagawin ko ‘yung work ko,” she expressed during her interview with Janno Gibbs and Bing Loyzaga.
The Kapuso Primetime Queen then added, “That’s fine with me. Isa lang ang ayaw kong ginagawa, always late.”
To recall, Rivera first rose to fame through her role as Marimar in the record-breaking series of the same name over 18 years ago. Since then, so much has changed in her life. Now one of the country’s biggest superstars, her level of professionalism, despite her status, speaks volumes about her character and has greatly contributed to her longevity in the industry.
