Male Customer Surprised After Casher Asked for Smaller Bill When Paying w/ P100
A male customer shared his experience after a cashier allegedly asked him for a smaller bill when he paid with P100.
Recently, a Threads user named froizycarreonism shared his unexpected encounter with a cashier while buying siopao at a bus terminal. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions online.
According to the post, the customer was buying a special siopao at a Henlin stall located inside the PITX terminal. He ordered just one asado siopao and handed over a one-hundred-peso bill as payment.
Instead of immediately giving change, the cashier asked if he had a smaller bill. This surprised the customer, as P100 is commonly used for small purchases and the item cost most of that amount.
The customer shared that he politely explained that he did not have smaller cash. While the cashier eventually accepted the bill and gave the correct change, the customer noticed a look of disappointment and hesitation. Though the transaction was completed, the moment left a strong impression on him.
Froizy mentioned that he had previously worked as a cashier himself. From his experience, asking for a smaller bill was usually done for very large bills, not for a payment that closely matched the price of the item.
