Chavit Singson has a new business venture
Businessman and politician Luis “Chavit” Singson signed a contract with GMA Pictures as a movie co-producer.
Singson is one of the most popular political figures in the Philippines, aside from being a business tycoon. In the past, he served as the governor of Ilocos Sur.
Just recently, his political opinions became controversial. He said that he wanted to debate with President Bongbong Marcos and Congressman Martin Romualdez over the flood control issue.
Chavit Singson believed that the President had to step down amid the corruption issues that the Philippines is facing right now. With this, Malacañang Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro said that “it is inciting to sedition.”
Along with his political opinion, Chavit Singson had a business venture. Based on the article in The Philippine Star, the businessman-politician signed a contract with GMA Pictures as a co-producer for a movie.
Present at the contract signing were GMA Pictures president Annette Gozon-Valdes and businesswoman Pinky Tobiano. GMA’s Sparkle talents Shuvee Etrata and Faith da Silva were also present at the contract signing, as well as Betong Sumaya, Tim Yap, Vanessa Peña, Skye Chua, Alethea Ambrosio, Jade Tecson, and Bianca Manalo.
As of this writing, GMA Pictures has not yet divulged more details about its movie collaboration with the businessman-politician. However, some reports said the upcoming film will tackle a story about beauty queens.
Prior to this, Singson also had a film collaboration with GMA Pictures in 2025. It was for the movie Samahan ng mga Makasalanan, which starred David Licauco and Sanya Lopez.
Meanwhile, Chavit Singson has previously expressed his desire to buy the Miss Universe Organization and take over the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world. However, MUO head Raul Rocha slammed the businessman-politician and called him “delusional fool.”
