Pres. Bongbong Marcos Missing in Photos of Matthew Manotoc, Jamie Herrell’s Wedding
BONGBONG MARCOS – The social media was left abuzz after the President was seemingly absent at the wedding of Senator Imee Marcos’ son, Matthew Manotoc.
The Marcoses are among the most popular and influential politicians in the Philippine government. Aside from the sitting President being a Marcos, specifically the only son of the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., several members of the family are holding key positions in the government.
The sister of the President is Senator Imee Marcos. Presidential son Sandro Marcos is currently the congressman of the first district of Ilocos Norte. Sen. Imee’s son, Matthew Manotoc, is the vice governor of Ilocos Norte.
Recently, Ilocos Norte Vice Pres. Matthew Manotoc officially tied the knot with Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell. The wedding ceremony was held at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Cebu.
However, what caught the attention of a lot of netizens was the supposed absence of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, his uncle, at the wedding of the son of Sen. Imee Marcos. Her mother, the former First Lady Imelda Marcos, was present at the wedding of her grandchild. It is no secret to the public that PBBM and Sen. Imee Marcos have an issue though.
First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos and two (2) presidential sons, Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos and Joseph Simon Marcos were also seemingly absent. Based on a post on the Facebook account under the username Cristopher Retokelly Carpila, only the youngest son of the President, William Vincent “Vinny” Marcos was allegedly spotted at the wedding photos that circulate on social media.
The ex-husband of Sen. Imee Marcos, Tommy Manotoc, was also present at the wedding of their son. The sister of Sen. Imee and PBBM, Irene Marcos, was also there.
Sen. Imee Marcos aligned herself with the Duterte family in the issue over the controversial arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC). She even left the senatorial slate of her brother then.
Recently, during a rally organized by the members of the Iglesia ni Cristo, Sen. Imee Marcos accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly using illegal drugs. Her claim earned different reactions after it was made in front of thousands of INC members and aired on national TV. Presidential son and Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos slammed his aunt, Sen. Ime Marcos, for her accusation against PBBM.
