Kapuso Actor Dingdong Dantes Speaks on Possibility of Running for Gov’t Post
DINGDONG DANTES – The Kapuso Primetime King was asked if he has interest in running for politics amid his many advocacies that benefit the community.
One of the most popular actors in the Philippine showbiz industry is Dingdong. He and his wife, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, make not only one of the most popular love teams in the show businesses but as well as real-life couple.

Dingdong Dantes and Maria Rivera who recently celebrated their 11th anniversary as a married couple were blessed with two (2) children — Maria Letizia or more popularly known as “Zia” and Jose Sixto or “Ziggy”. The actress has previously shared that amid their showbiz careers, they agreed that only one (1) of them should be out for work while the other is with their kids.
Amid the very successful showbiz career of Dingdong, the Kapuso star also plays a more active role beyond showbiz. He leads the League of Filipino Actors or the “Aktor PH”. He is also advocating national disaster preparedness aside from championing many other community initiatives.

Recently, during a vlog interview with real-life couple Janno Gibbs and Bing Loyzaga, Dingdong Dantes was asked if he has an interest in running for politics. In his response, the Kapuso actor clarified his love for service to the community.

According to Dingdong Dantes, everything that he does for the community is because of his desire to serve. However, he clarified that there are several ways to serve the community and being in politics is something that he does not consider.
“I think, sa akin, malinaw na, you know, I’m doing this for the love of the community. Of course lahat to ay sa aking desire to serve, pero may iba-iba namang paraan to show that service eh. And I think being in that arena, ‘yung in politics to be particular, is something that I don’t want kasi parang OK ako eh,” the Kapuso actor said.

Furthermore, during the vlog interview, Dingdong Dantes stressed that he has more liberty to do the things he does in service of the community “as a private citizen and as a member of the community”. His wife, Marian Rivera, could not resist from expressing her pride over her husband.
“Nakaka-proud na ito ‘yung kasama ko sa buhay. Lahat na ginawa niya, parang sabi ko, ‘Sige, hanggang kaya, support kita diyan.’ Sabi nga ni Dong, ‘Tayo-tayo lang magtutulungan dito, walang iba.’ Nakaka-proud na ginawa niya talaga ‘yung Aktor,” Marian said of her husband.
