MARIAN RIVERA – Eleven years into married life, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are opening up about the realities that shaped their enduring relationship.
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes recently offered a rare and heartfelt glimpse into their married life as they reflected on 11 years of marriage during their guest appearance on the YouTube show of Janno Gibbs and Bing Loyzaga. The celebrity couple spoke candidly about love, jealousy, communication, and the realities that come with building a family together, emphasizing that a lasting relationship goes far beyond constant happiness.
During the conversation, Rivera was asked about the last time she felt jealous in their relationship. She admitted that it had been a long time since she experienced such emotions. “Ang tagal na. Ang tagal nang hindi. After nang nanganak ako, parang nawala na,” she shared. Adding a lighthearted remark, Dingdong quipped, “Wala na masyado kasi baka nahiya na rin sila kasi asawa ko na,” drawing laughter while underscoring their sense of security as a married couple.
Dantes then addressed how he maintains trust and faithfulness in their relationship. He emphasized the importance of reassurance and effort, saying, “Number one, kailangan ‘yung constant reassurance na ‘everything is alright na wala namang dahilan para maramdaman mo ‘yan.’ Kailangan talaga ‘yung effort na parating pinapaalala ‘yun. And, siyempre, to begin with, wala naman talagang dapat [ipagselos].”
Rivera, meanwhile, spoke openly about her emotional honesty within their marriage. She explained that being expressive has played a key role in strengthening their bond. “Tayong mga babae, masyado tayong expressive sa mga nararamdaman natin. Masyado tayong transparent. Masyado tayong vocal. Okay ako nang ganoon kaysa naman kikimkimin ko. I think magandang proseso rin ‘yun na naging open ako sa mga nararamdaman ko sa kanya kaya I think nagtagal ‘yung relasyon naming dalawa,” she said.
Reflecting on more than a decade together, Dantes shared how their commitment has only grown deeper. “Sa 11 years, mas na-strengthen ‘yung paniniwala ko kung bakit namin pinili ang isa’t isa,” he said. Rivera also acknowledged that marriage comes with sacrifices and challenges, especially as a mother and wife. She admitted that their relationship has not always been easy, but love continues to prevail despite difficulties.
“Ang mga babae, marami ring ginagawa para sa pamilya… Doon mas nagiging makabuluhan ang relationship n’yo na hindi lang puro saya — may pagkakataon din talaga na magkakaroon kayo ng problema. Pero at the end of the day, mare-realize mo, mananaig pa rin talaga ‘yung pagmamahal n’yo sa isa’t isa,” Rivera confessed.
She concluded by sharing her personal definition of true love, highlighting the importance of supporting one another through weaknesses. For Rivera, love means choosing each other every day, not only in moments of strength, but especially during times of vulnerability.
