Their appearance at the same event immediately sparked online buzz, especially since Daniel’s former girlfriend, Kathryn Bernardo, was also present at the wedding. On Monday, December 29, 2025, Karla Estrada was interviewed by ABS-CBN News and was asked to share her thoughts regarding the rumored special relationship between Daniel and Kaila. Karla made it clear that she prefers not to speculate or interfere, emphasizing her trust in her son’s decisions.
According to Karla, “Kung ano yung nakikita ko sa anak ko na masaya siya, masaya na rin ako bilang nanay niya.
“Nasa edad na kasi sila, so manggagaling na lang sa kanila dahil hindi na rin naman ako para manguna. Hayaan na natin.
“Kung ano yung nakikita natin, masaya na naman tayo pare-pareho, and I think it’s about time na mag-mature na tayo sa mga ganitong sitwasyon.”
Karla also shared that she has no issue if Kaila is indeed Daniel’s girlfriend, noting that she knows the actress well, along with her family. She explained that their families have long been acquainted, saying, “Okay siya. Matagal ko nang nami-meet si Kaila kasi me and Ate Janice [de Belen] are very close friends, also John [Estrada].”
Rumors about Daniel and Kaila have been circulating for some time, especially after they worked together in the now-defunct action-drama series Incognito.
