Duterte’s Former Spox Harry Roque Speaks on Possible Fresh Impeachment Complaint vs. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte
HARRY ROQUE – Duterte’s former Spokesman believes that many members of the Congress won’t support the possible new impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Several impeachment complaints were previously filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. One of them was transmitted to the Senate. Then, it was a loud issue in politics as countless Filipinos called on the upper chamber to start the trial.
However, the Supreme Court has ruled that the impeachment complaint is unconstitutional even before any Senate trial commences. Following the decision of the Supreme Court, 19 senators voted to archive the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Amid the archiving of the impeachment case against the Vice President, Senate President Tito Sotto and Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson assured that they will revive the Duterte’s impeachment complaint if the SC changes its ruling. Motions for reconsideration were filed over the decision of the court.
According to the Supreme Court, the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte violates the one-year rule ban. The court also said that a fresh impeachment complaint may only be filed against the Vice President starting February 6, 2025.
However, recently, a member of the House of Representatives confirmed that they might refile an impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, her father’s former spokesman, Harry Roque, reacted to the said remarks.
Through a post on social media, Harry Roque claimed that the greedy congressmen and women will allegedly celebrate over the possible fresh impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. However, he also believes that many members of the Congress will not support it.
Recently, former Senator Antonio Trillanes claimed that plunder charges might be filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte this week. The Vice President remains surrounded by questions over the alleged misuse of the P625-million confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) under her lead.
