Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Harry Roque amid Pasig Court’s Order for Passport Cancellation
HARRY ROQUE – More than the order for the cancellation of his passport, Vice President Sara Duterte is worried about the health of her father’s former spokesman.
Roque is an asylum seeker in The Netherlands for several months now. He was hiding after the House of Representatives ordered his arrest for the investigation of his alleged involvement in the operations of the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in the country.
When former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s custody was transferred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands following his arrest last March 11, it was only then when Roque appeared in public again. He was spotted talking to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte outside the ICC detention facility.
Since then, Roque became active on social media again and usually comments on the issues in the Philippines. Harry Roque was even vocal in calling for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to resign and give the position to “someone with the right mindset”.
According to Roque, he cannot forgive the Marcos Jr. administration for allegedly causing the separation between him and his family. He claimed that he will only return to the Philippines the day after the presidential term of Marcos Jr. ends.
Recently, amid his criticisms against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the government as well as the ongoing investigation of his alleged involvement in the illegal POGO operations in the country, a court in Pasig ordered the cancellation of the passport of Harry Roque. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has also issued a Red Notice against him.
Following the order of the court for the cancellation of his passport, Harry Roque appealed for prayers. He plans to file a motion for reconsideration over the decision of the Pasig court on his travel document.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to the order of a court in Pasig to cancel the passport of Harry Roque. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the Vice President stressed that she is more concerned about the health of Roque.
“I am more concerned about former spokesperson Harry Roque more than his passport… He has health problems… That is the primary concern… I hope he gets well soon,” Duterte said based on the post.
Recently, amid the rumors that he was allegedly arrested, Harry Roque revealed why he was supposedly offloaded during his flight to Vienna for his asylum bid.
