Bong Revilla shared his bonding moment with his family
Actor-politician Bong Revilla received negative comments from netizens because of his post with the caption “God will not forsake us.”
Bong has been in the entertainment industry for many years. He came from a prominent showbiz clan and eventually ventured into politics like his father, Ramon Revilla Sr. His son Jolo Revilla followed in his footsteps in showbiz and in the political arena.
Currently, Bong’s wife, Lani Mercado, is the current Cavite’s second district representative since 2022. The actor-politician did not win in the 2025 elections when he tried to return to the Senate.
Bong Revilla’s name was dragged into the anomalous flood control projects when former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan district engineer Henry Alcantara mentioned him as one of the alleged politicians who received kickbacks.
Bong denied this and pressed his innocence. However, photos of him visiting a flood control project site in Bulacan surfaced on social media, and he was with Alcantara at that time. His photo with contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya, who were also dragged into the flood control project issue, circulated online.
Following this issue, the actor-politician had a public appearance in which he was walking with a walker. With this, netizens commented that he was using the medical condition excuse that politicians use when they are involved in issues.
Back in October, rumors surfaced that Bong had a private meeting with Ombudsman Boying Remulla. On November 19, the actor-politician shared a photo with his family. “Spending quality time with my family [praying hands emoji] God will not forsake us [praying hands emoji] Alam ko pong nandyan kayo palagi at hinde nyo po kami pababayaan Lord [praying hands emoji] Thank you Lord,” he wrote in the caption of his post. In the comment section, he also wrote, “Pls pray for us.”
