Alleged Drunk Man Caught on CCTV Punching Parked Taxi in QC

An alleged drunk man was caught on CCTV punching and throwing an object at a parked taxi in Quezon City.

On Friday midnight (November 14, 2025), a 21-year-old man reportedly punched and thrown an object at a parked taxi along Pugad Lawin Street in Barangay Bahay Toro. The incident caught the attention of nearby residents.

In the CCTV footage, a woman is seen walking with three men. As they passed by the taxi, one of the men suddenly punched the window and rear side of the vehicle. After crossing the street, he picked up something from the ground and threw it at the back of the taxi, causing more damage.

Another CCTV clip showed two young girls walking past the same taxi. They noticed the broken rear window and later returned with a man who appeared to know the vehicle’s owner. They pointed out the damage to him, alerting the group about the incident.

Carl Angelo Ponon, the CCTV operator, explained that the man accompanying the two girls knew the taxi owner. The children immediately informed him after seeing the broken glass, which prompted them to check the vehicle.

Barangay Tanod Bernardo Asistorga, who was near the scene, said he later saw the 21-year-old suspect being chased by several residents. The community had already learned that he was the one who punched and damaged the taxi, which led to him being cornered.

The suspect admitted that he had been drinking before the incident. He said he had an argument with his 19-year-old live-in partner, which made him lose his temper and release his frustration by hitting the parked taxi.

He is now in the custody of Barangay Bahay Toro. Authorities are waiting to find out whether the taxi owner will file a formal complaint or choose to settle the matter privately.
