House Speaker Bojie Dy Releases SALN amid the PH Gov’t Corruption Issue

Copy of SALN of House Speaker Bojie Dy Released for Public Access

House Speaker Bojie Dy released a copy of his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) to the public.

One of the first tasks that Ombudsman Boying Remulla did since he was appointed to his new position was the reopening of the SALN of government officials for public access. He issued a memorandum that lifted the consent requirement from the SALN owner in the access of his/her SALN.

The Ombudsman is the repository of the documents pertaining to the declared assets, liabilities, and net worth of the president, the vice president, the Constitutional commissions’ officials, and the local government officials. In the memo that reversed the circular implemented by former Ombudsman Samuel Martires, Remulla stressed that “Public office is a public trust”.

Following the restoration of the public access on the SALN of the government officials, Ombudsman Remulla asked the lawmakers to voluntarily disclose their SALNs. Several senators immediately heed the call of the country’s chief graft-buster.
