LTO Suspends License of Pickup Driver for Beating Elderly Bus Driver During Traffic Altercation
LTO has suspended the license of a pickup driver for 90 days after assaulting an elderly bus driver in Cavite.
Recently, the Land Transportation Office suspended the driver’s license of a pickup truck owner for 90 days after he was caught on video physically assaulting an elderly bus driver during a road altercation in Silang, Cavite.
According to the police report from the Silang Municipal Police Station, the incident began when the pickup, a Toyota Hilux, made a right turn and accidentally sideswiped a public utility bus.

Instead of calmly resolving the situation, the pickup driver confronted the bus driver and attacked him.
The agency immediately issued a show cause order requiring the pickup driver to appear before the agency and explain why his license should not be permanently revoked.
The suspect may face administrative charges for reckless driving, obstruction, and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle under Republic Act 4136, also known as the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
While the investigation is ongoing, the LTO also placed the vehicle under alarm status, which means no ownership transfer or registration transaction can be made until the case is resolved.
Transportation officials reminded motorists that road rage incidents have no place on public roads. They emphasized that anger should never rule over discipline, especially when lives and safety are at stake.
