Former Actress Danica Sotto Speaks on Brother Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto

DANICA SOTTO – The sister of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto admitted her wish that all mayors are like her brother.

Undeniably, there are a few young government officials who have hooked national attention because of their genuine and excellent public service. One of them is Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, the son of Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto and veteran actress Coney Reyes.

Mayor Vico Sotto is serving his second term as the chief of the local government in Pasig City. He was the David that broke the decade-long reign of the Eusebio family in the city. Countless Filipinos undeniably want him to run for a higher office in the 2028 Elections.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto was one of those included in TIME’s list of ‘Most Influencing Rising Stars’. He was one of the vocal government officials who spoke about the pursuit for accountability amid the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the Philippines.

Recently, Danica Sotto, the elder sister of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, spoke about him. Based on a report on Bandera, she did admit her wish that every mayor is like her brother because of who he is as a public servant.

Danica Sotto, the eldest among the Sotto siblings and Bossing‘s daughter with veteran actress Dina Bonnevie, expressed that she is so proud of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto. She stressed that he did not stop in just getting the position which shows that he is not after power.

“Sobrang proud ako kay Vico. He didn’t stop there. Hindi siya na-secure na parang, ‘Okay. Nakaupo na ako.’ That’s how you know that he’s not after the power,” she said.

According to Danica, she treats Vico as epitome of a “true public servant”. The former Actress also stressed that it is really evident citing how her younger brother makes the people feel that he is also an employee by wearing his ID.

“Makikita mo naman kahit sa mga interview. Naka-ID [siya]. Kasi gusto niyang iparamdam na, ‘I’m also an employee. Like you guys. And I’m here to serve,’” she expressed.

Furthermore, based on the report, Danica Sotto also stressed that it is really evident how humble Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto is as well as his pursuit for public service. She believes that it is really because her brother wants to make a difference and he is really tired of the alleged rotten system in the country.

“Proud ako pero ayaw ko rin siyang i-pressure,” Danica said.

When asked about the possibility of her brother running for a higher position in the government, Danica Sotto stressed that she is praying for the will of God in her brother’s life. She admitted her wish that all mayors are like Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto.

“I wish there would be so many Vico Sottos in every municipality. Sana lahat ng mayor ay katulad niya,” she said.

Previously, amid the calls for him to run for a higher office in the next election, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto revealed what he will do after 2028.
