Actress Nadine Lustre has spoken about her decision to join the rally against corruption on September 21.

Nadine is one of the celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry who is vocal about her beliefs and stands on certain issues in the country.

Nadine also showed her support for the cry of many Filipinos amid the corruption issue because of the anomalous flood control projects.

During the September 21 rally, Nadine Lustre was photographed by netizens. She was just low-key, expressing her sentiments regarding the situation of the country.

In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Nadine shared her reason for joining the national protest. “I think it’s my responsibility being Filipino to be one with everyone else,” the actress said.

She did not without the drama and the act of being a celebrity. “September 21 po kasi I really wanted to be there not as a celebrity, not as a public figure, but as a Filipino. Sobrang ganda ng experience, parang na-feel ko lahat nang nandoon sa Ortigas, ‘yung nandoon sa EDSA, I felt like I was part of everyone,” Nadine said.

The actress also said that it made her happy seeing her fellow Filipinos standing up against corruption. Her Call Me Mother co-star Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda also joined that rally and even spoke before their fellow rallyists.

Vice expressed his anger against corruption and even challenged President Bongbong Marcos to address this issue efficiently. Nadine said that she understands her fellow celebrities’ emotions, like how Vice expressed his thoughts on this matter.

The actress also said that she was amazed that public figures were present during the rally. She narrated that she and her companions really walked. Nadine said that it was good to see that people were united to fight against corruption.

She also said that it was a memorable event for her. “It was so beautiful to see everyone coming together,” she said.
