Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Bares New Suggestion for Marcos Jr. Admin
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed her belief that the Marcos Jr. administration should travel and consult the Pinoy communities abroad what is doable in the Philippines.
Despite the criticisms against her frequent overseas trips, Vice Pres. Duterte remains unbothered by the remarks and questions. Duterte recently confirmed that she is set to visit Japan again in September to meet with the Filipino communities there.

According to the Vice President, it will be a “large gathering” organized by the Japan-based Filipinos who want to show their support to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Her father is currently detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.
The elder Duterte is under the ICC custody since March and he is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity over the war on drugs of his administration. The Vice President’s trip to Japan will take place before the ICC hearing of her father on September 23.

Vice Pres. Duterte is set to return to The Hague after her visit to Japan for the gathering with the Pinoy communities on September 20 and 21. Previously, amid the criticisms of her frequent trips abroad, the Vice President claimed that she travels in other countries because of the Pinoy communities abroad are allegedly filled with frustration.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the Filipino communities abroad are “frustrated” over what is happening in the Philippines. Malacañang was quick to respond to the claims of the Vice President saying that her travel is allegedly not the solution if the country really has problems.
Furthermore, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro also stressed that Filipino communities abroad may allegedly be frustrated as while Pres. Bongbong Marcos is working in the country, she is out there traveling.

Recently, amid the issues on the anomalous flood control projects in the Philippines taking the center ground, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her belief that the Marcos Jr. administration should follow her in what she does. Based on a report on 24 Oras, the Vice President claimed that she explores the whole world to meet with the Pinoy communities in other countries and seek their advice.
“Siguro dapat gawin nila ‘yung ginagawa ko, diba? Umiikot ako sa iba’t ibang Filipino communities around the world. The overseas Filipinos and the overseas Filipino workers ang pinaka the best na mga consultants, kasi sila ‘yung nakatira, nakaikot sa buong mundo, naka-trabaho sa iba’t ibang lugar. Alam nila ang best practices,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte further claimed asking the overseas Filipino workers in other countries about the foreign practices that are doable in the Philippines. She also claimed that OFWs must also be consulted what they see about the country.
“So anong dapat ginagawa natin? Tinatanong natin sila. Ano ba yung nakita ninyo? Ano ba ‘yung pangarap natin para sa ating bayan? Ano ba ‘yung doable doon sa ating bayan na best practices galing sa, sabihin na natin sa Kuwait, sabihin na natin sa Australia, sabihin na natin sa Netherlands,” she said.
Previously, amid the criticisms, the OVP defended Vice Pres. Duterte saying that she may not be physically present in her office but she remains to do her work — “sometimes virtual, sometimes ghost”.
