Armed Man Arrested for Stealing Sunglasses & Mini Fan from Local Eatery
An armed man who stole only a pair of sunglasses and a mini fan from an eatery in Barangay Milagro, Ormoc City, was arrested.
The owner was puzzled on why the suspect ignored the cash in the register and instead took the two items from a parked vehicle outside the establishment.
CCTV footage showed the man opening the vehicle door before walking away with the sunglasses and mini fan. Authorities are still looking into why he targeted these items instead of taking money or other valuables. Police are also investigating if he has been involved in other incidents in the area.

In a separate incident, the same suspect was reportedly linked to a robbery in Baguio City. CCTV from a boutique and convenience store in Ago, La Union, captured him breaking in during the early hours of August 7, 2025 (Thursday).
He spent nearly half an hour rummaging inside before leaving. Employees later recognized him as someone who had previously been a customer.
Another theft was also recorded on CCTV in Barangay San Isidro, La Paz, Iloilo. This time, a different suspect entered a residential property and stole several power tools left on a table in the yard.
The items were valued at around P7,000. Police are now searching for the man involved.
The string of thefts across different cities has prompted local authorities to remind residents and business owners to stay alert and secure their properties. While the Ormoc City case may seem unusual because of the stolen items, officials stress that any form of break-in remains a serious matter that needs to be addressed to keep communities safe.
