Ice Seguerra is set to release his first all-original album
Singer Ice Seguerra admitted that he was afraid to share his feelings and thoughts in the past, which prevented him from sharing them through songs.
Ice has been in the industry for almost four decades. From being a child star, he became an artist and released covers and original songs, but he had never had an all-original album before.
Now, Ice is set to release his all-original album for the first time. Based on the article in The Philippine Star, the singer shared he was not comfortable in the past in sharing his thoughts through his music.
“It took me a while. For the longest time, hindi ako naging matapang because I was afraid to share my thoughts, to share what I was really feeling kasi I was afraid to fail,” Ice said.
His Being Ice album will narrate his journey through depression, grief, self-love, long-distance devotion, parental legacy, and queer joy.
This is the first project under Fire and Ice Music in partnership with Star Music, the music label of ABS-CBN. The new album came 10 years after his previous release, which was the album Araw Gabi with the National Artist for Music, Ryan Cayabyab.
Ice said that he had matured, but it took 10 years or more to reach this kind of status, with the acceptance that if things do not go his way, then he needs to move forward.
The album features eight tracks. The song Anino is the of Ice to his fans about his coming out. Another track is titled Ikaw Lang narrates a relationship heartbreak, but it became a love vow.
Lost in Time is about someone who has hidden affection, while Ikaw Pala ‘Yon and Natapos Ang Lahat feature the theme of saying a final goodbye to a loved one.
Ice Seguerra has released three of the tracks from this album: Shelter of the Broken, ‘Wag Na Lang Pala, and Nandiyan Ka.
Being Ice is set to be released on Friday, August 8, on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.
