Another Oil Price Hike Expected on First Week of August 2025

DOE Eyes Another Oil Price Hike Next Week

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gasoline stations are expecting another oil price hike on the first week of August 2025.

Filipino motorists are in for another round of pump price hikes next week, as oil companies prepare to adjust fuel prices starting Tuesday, (August 5, 2025). The Department of Energy (DOE) shared that the increase is based on recent global trading activity, which has pushed oil prices upward once again.

Here is the list of project fuel price hike next week:

  • Gasoline: P1.50 per liter
  • Diesel: P1.00 per liter
  • Kerosene: P0.80 per liter

These increases come after global concerns over oil supply resurfaced due to new sanctions imposed by the United States on Russian and Iranian oil. On top of that, hopes of stronger economic activity following a trade agreement between the U.S. and European Union are also influencing market trends.

Despite the looming hike, some areas will remain unaffected. Regions currently under a state of calamity due to recent storms and flooding will continue to observe a price freeze, meaning fuel prices there will not change until further notice.

Fuel companies are expected to release the final price adjustments on Monday, August 4, with the changes taking effect the next day. Weekly price adjustments are typically made every Tuesday across the country.

Just last week, gasoline saw a slight rollback of P0.10 per liter, but diesel and kerosene went up by P0.60 and P0.40, respectively. As of now, the total price increases since January have reached:

  • Gasoline: P9.30 per liter
  • Diesel: P13.05 per liter
  • Kerosene: P2.95 per liter

Meanwhile, Petron has announced a price rollback of P2.50 per kilogram for LPG, effective August 1, bringing a small bit of relief to household budgets.
