Alan Peter Cayetano on Marcos SONA 2025: “This is the first time na dahil sa project, bumaha”

Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano Reacts To Marcos SONA 2025

ALAN PETER CAYETANO – The Senator reacted to the remarks of President Bongbong Marcos during his SONA 2025 about the flood control projects.

Last Monday, July 28, several members of the Senate and the House of Representatives as well as the Cabinet of Pres. Bongbong Marcos were gathered at the House of Representatives for the Marcos SONA 2025. It was the 4th State of the Nation Address of the Chief Executive and he is halfway to the end of his presidential term.

Bongbong Marcos

Marcos Jr. reported the accomplishment of the government under the first three (3) years of his term as president. He stressed that the production of several agricultural products like corn and bananas were increased and the government was able to achieve the P20 per kilo rice without putting the farmers on a losing end.

The President also claimed that the other countries look high on the Philippines now. He vowed that the government will strive to boost the coconut industry in the Philippines, to help more Filipinos including businessmen, and to not stop until all Maharlika families will have a progressive status.

Marcos SONA 2025

Pres. Bongbong Marcos made a lot of promises in his 4th SONA. He assured the Filipinos that the education remains at the center of his administration’s priorities and the people can expect that more classrooms will be built in the next three (3) years of his term and the schools will be digitized.

However, Pres. Marcos also expressed his frustration about the alleged corruption in the government through kickbacks in government projects and many other illegal activities. He also stressed that the flood control projects in the country were a failure.

Recently, when Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano was asked about his reaction to the SONA 2025 of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, he admitted that it was the Chief Executive’s remarks about the flood control projects that hooked him. Based on a post of a netizen on Facebook, the Senator found the remarks of the President about the flood control projects different from many previous SONAs he has heard.

According to Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, it is the first time that he has heard a President saying that because of the flood control projects, there was flooding in the country. He stressed that he has listened to over a dozen SONAs because of the length of the time that he’s part of the Congress.

“Binabanggit ko nga eh na sa tagal ko sa Congress, sa more than two dozen SONAs, parating pinagyayabang sa midterm yung ah bumabaha ng project. This is the first time na dahil sa project, bumaha, ‘di ba?” the Senator said.

Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano also claimed that presidents would usually boast the accomplishments of the government in the annual address and although Marcos Jr. allegedly aired some of the accomplishments of the government, the Chief Executive still stressed the failure of the flood control projects. Based on the post, the Senator stressed that a huge amount of money is spent on it.

Usually ang sasabihin sa midterm, ‘Ito na nagawa, ‘yan na nagawa, ganito kadaming kalye, etc.’ So although nabanggit ng konti ‘yun, sinabi talaga na ghost o palpak na project sa flood controls and this is ano ah hundreds of billions. Baka in one term umabot the trillion ‘yan, ‘di ba?” Cayetano expressed.

Previously, Philippine National Police or PNP Chief Nicolas Torre III who was mentioned by Pres. Bongbong Marcos during his SONA 2025 was asked to rate the 4th annual address of the Chief Executive.
