Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Approving National Budget Proposals
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President spoke about the budget proposals that are not aligned to the plans of the government for the Filipino people.
The Marcos 2025 SONA has gathered many senators and members of the House of Representatives as well as the members of the Cabinet. However, it also marks the record as one of the presidential State of the Nation Address event with many absentees.

The senator-allies of the Duterte family, senators Bato dela Rosa, Bong Go, and Robin Padilla, ditched the 4th SONA of Marcos Jr. Weeks prior to the event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also confirmed her absence to the annual address of the President.
According to the Vice President, she does not expect to hear anything substantial about the country at the SONA 2025. She claimed that she has a scheduled trip to South Korea for a gathering with the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Indeed, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte did not appear at the SONA 2025 of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. It was the second time that she skipped the annual address of the President amid their soured relationship.

At the Marcos SONA 2025, Pres. Bongbong Marcos mentioned the accomplishments of the government as well as its goals in the remaining three (3) years of his term. He stressed that the government has showed doubters that the P20 per kilo rice is possible without putting the farmers on the losing end.

According to the President, the affordable rice will be made available nationwide. He also assured the people that education remains at the center of the priorities of his administration. According to him, the public can expect that more classrooms will be built.
The President also shared that the laptops that the government procured for the public school teachers have already arrived. According to him, teachers will also get extra pay for their overtime and the excess in their workload.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also called out the government officials who are involved in corrupt practices. He stressed that the government will run after these people. Furthermore, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he also spoke about approving budget proposals.
According to the President, he will “return any proposed General Appropriations Bill that is not fully aligned with the National Expenditure Program”. Based on the report, he stressed that he is willing to get as far as having a reenacted budget.
“Hindi ko aaprubahan ang kahit anong budget na hindi alinsunod sa plano ng gobyerno para sa sambayanang Pilipino,” Marcos said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos has approved the proposed P6.793 trillion budget of the government for 2026.
