DOE Says Mixed Oil Price Adjustments Expected on Tuesday (July 29, 2025)
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – The Department of Energy is expecting mixed oil price adjustments on last week of July 2025.
Motorists may see mixed changes in fuel prices in the final week of July, with diesel and kerosene expected to go up again, while gasoline prices remain uncertain. DOE said that international market trends show signs of another adjustment at local gasoline stations next week.
Diesel prices may rise by around P0.40 – P0.60 per liter. Kerosene may also see a bump of roughly P0.30 centavos per liter. Meanwhile, gasoline prices could either slightly drop by up to P0.30 centavos or increase by around P0.10.

If gasoline does go up again, it will mark the third straight week of increases since mid-July.
The energy department said that these price movements are mainly driven by several global factors.
Among them are the continuing drop in oil inventories in the United States, tensions in the Middle East, particularly between Iran and Israel, and uncertainties in US trade policies. These events have contributed to oil price volatility worldwide.

“Wild ride in oil prices was largely driven by geopolitical events and uncertainty surrounding US trade policies,” DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau assistant director Rodela Romero said.
Industry insiders also pointed to increasing fuel supply in major hubs and weaker demand, which may help bring gasoline prices down. However, concerns remain about possible supply disruptions following the European Union’s new sanctions on Russia, a key exporter of fuel products.
Fuel companies are expected to announce official price changes by Monday, which will take effect the following day.
Meanwhile, in places declared under a state of calamity, a 15-day freeze on the prices of household LPG (11 kilograms and below) and kerosene will be implemented, starting from the day local authorities make the declaration.
However, diesel and gasoline are not included in the price freeze.
