Yedda Romualdez, House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s Wife, To Take House Seat
Martin Romualdez’s wife Yedda Romualdez will sit as one of the representatives of Tingog Party-list in the 20th Congress.
Ahead of the opening of the 20th Congress on July 28, there are already claims that House Speaker Martin Romualdez is poised to remain in his position as the chief of the House of Representatives. Deputy Speaker Jay-Jay Suarez claims that 285 solons allegedly support the current leadership of the House.

According to Suarez, 278 congressmen have already signed a commitment declaring their support to Romualdez. He also claimed that even Liberal Party members allegedly support the presidential cousin to remain in his position.
Several other members of the House of Representatives believe that there is a solid support for House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the chamber. Based on a post on social media by News5, Yedda Romualdez, House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s wife, is also set to take a seat in the lower chamber.

Based on the post, Yedda Romualdez is set to sit as one of the representatives of the Tingog party-list in the 20th Congress. The decision for House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s wife to sit as Tingog party-list representative came after the third nominee resigned from the post.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) also announced the removal of the fourth and fifth nominees of the Tingog party-list. The party-list won three (3) seats and the other two (2) seats are occupied by the son of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and his wife Yedda, Andrew Julian “Marty” Romualdez, and Rep. Jude Acidre.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s wife previously served as the representative of Tingog party-list from 2019 until 2025. Based on the post, she is also a former representative of the First District of Leyte since 2016 to 2019.
Aside from his wife and his son gearing up for their seats as Tingog party-list representatives in the 20th Congress, Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos who is a nephew of House Speaker Martin Romualdez may also be the House Majority Leader in the 20th Congress.
