PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Tuesday (July 15, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA forecaster Obet Badrina reported that a tropical cyclone is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The tropical depression was last spotted 1,925 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 70 kph. It is moving 20 kph at a northward direction.
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, and Southern Leyte.
“At sa ating latest satellite images naman, makikita natin ang patuloy na epekto ng southwest monsoon o habag at partikular na sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa. Inaasahan pa rin natin ngayong araw, malaking tsansa ng maulap na kalangitan,” Bardina said.

Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“May inilabas tayong thunderstorm advisory, makararanas po ng mga pag-ulan, pag-kidlat at-pag-kulog, partikular na sa Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, at kasama yung Metro Manila na maaaring magtagal ng isa hanggang 2 oras,” Badrina added.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern Luzon will be moderate. Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions is expected over the remaining parts of the country, according to PAGASA.
