This is how Anne Curtis handled this comment.
ABS-CBN actress Anne Curtis recently received an award for her hosting skills, but one netizen had a comment, and this is how she handled it.
Several Kapamilya stars have received awards from the Guillermo Memorial Scholarship Foundation’s 53rd Box-Office Entertainment Awards 2025. Actress Kathryn Bernardo was the Phenomenal Box Office Queen, while Alden Richards was the Phenomenal Box Office King.
In the same list of winners, Anne Curtis was declared the Female TV Host of the Year, and because of this, one netizen aired her doubts about the value of the award and to whom it was given.
The comment said, “Filipino awards are weird. The one who always absent got an award. It just lead to interpretation that Philippines Show or Contest are cooking show.”
Curtis has seen this, and came one of the few moments she clapped back at people online. In a reply, she wrote defending herself, “FYI THIS WAS BASED ON LAST YEAR! When I was in my different hair girl era. Not this year.”
The doubt stemmed from the fact that this year, Anne was absent on most days in It’s Showtime. She is one of the regular hosts of the noontime shows, and during the first half of this year, she juggled her time doing two acting projects and other jobs, and whenever she has available time, she makes sure to spend it with the noontime program.
On X, formerly Twitter, she aired, “GIGIL NILA AKO E. Hayaan nyo, makakaasa kayo wala akong hosting award next year because I was absent for half of this year acting for 2 different projects. 1 that I have yet to finish. Happy?”
For most days that she was absent, she did the Philippine adaptation of “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay,” and the other project she is doing is a movie.
