DepEd Confirms No Saturday Classes for Students, Warns Against Fake News

The Department of Education (DepEd) confirmed that Saturday classes for students in elementary and high school is fake news.

On Tuesday (July 1, 2025), the Education Department released a statement denying the viral social media post, which claimed that Saturday classes would be added to the regular school schedule for all basic education levels.

DepEd warned the public about a false rumor spreading online that claims students in elementary and high school will soon have classes on Saturdays. The agency clarified that this information is not true and should not be trusted.

They encouraged students, parents, and teachers to follow only these channels for accurate and updated information.

The department also reminded the public to be cautious when reading posts online. With the rise of fake news, especially on social media, it is important to think carefully and verify facts before reacting or reposting.

Sharing false information can cause unnecessary panic or confusion among students and parents.

As of this writing, students can stick to their regular Monday-to-Friday class schedules, and no additional Saturday classes are planned. Always rely on official sources for any changes related to school policies and schedules.
