Ruru Madrid had a great chance in his acting career
Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid shared how the award-winning movie Green Bones changed his life.
Ruru has done various projects under his home network, GMA. His most recent TV project was the primetime action-drama series Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan. Before he did the second book of this, he had a big acting break in a movie, which was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024.
Ruru played he character of jail official Xavier Gonzaga in Green Bones. His performance in this film, directed by Zig Dulay, brought him a Best Supporting Actor trophy.
The movie also received the Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography awards. Child actress Sienna Stevens was also awarded Best Child Performer.
Kapuso drama king Dingdong Dantes was the lead star in this, and he played the character of Domingo Zamora. Previously, Dennis revealed that the lead role was not first offered to him. It was offered to the actor with whom he really aspires to work.
Both Dennis and Ruru proved that they were worthy of the roles given to them. Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Ruru Madrid expressed how thankful he was to be part of this amazing project.
In an Instagram post, the actor shared, “Isang pelikula na habang-buhay kong ipagpapasalamat-at ipagmamalaki ko kahit kanino.” This came with an announcement that Green Bones can now be watched on Netflix.
Ruru also shared the lesson he learned from being part of this project. “This film didn’t just challenge me… it changed me,” the actor said, adding that he hopes more people could watch this and get important life lessons.
“Para sa sining. Para sa bansa. At para sa ating lahat na pinipili pa ring maging mabuti sa mundong ito,” Ruru Madrid said. The actor also thanked everyone who supported their movie.
