Local Residents Found Newborn Baby Dead Inside Plastic Bag in Pasig City
A newborn baby was found dead inside a plastic bag in a trash area along Eusebio Avenue in Pasig City.
On Tuesday afternoon (June 10, 2025), a newborn baby boy was found dead, wrapped in a plastic bag and left in a trash area in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Locals noticed a blue plastic bag by the roadside, which had been run over by-passing vehicles, including a jeep, a truck, and eventually a car. It was only after the bag was accidentally opened that people discovered it contained the lifeless body of a baby.
“Una may dumaan na jeep, nagulungan ‘yung gilid ng plastic. Pangalawa may dumaan na truck. Then noong huli, may kotse na dumaan hanggang nabuklat ‘yung plastic, may laman palang bata,” owner of the nearby building, John Mar Cagas said.
Nearby residents quickly wrapped the baby in cloth and called emergency services for help. Barangay officials and police arrived at the scene about 30 minutes later. An ambulance came around 4 p.m. and confirmed that the baby was already dead.
The baby boy appeared to be around seven months old. His body was later brought to a funeral home.
As of this writing, the Pasig City Police have not released an official statement regarding the case. Authorities are working to identify who abandoned the baby. Barangay officials have promised to assist the police by reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the person responsible.
The incident has raised concern and sadness among residents. Many are hoping that the person who left the baby in such a cruel way will be found and held accountable.
The authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and help in the investigation. Meanwhile, the community mourns the loss of a life that never had a chance to begin.
