SUV Driver in Deadly NAIA Crash Enters Not Guilty Plea in Court
The SUV driver behind the tragic accident at Ninoy Aquino International Airport has pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him.
On Tuesday (May 27, 2025), the man behind the wheel in the deadly NAIA crash has entered a not guilty plea. The plea was made during a hearing at the Pasay Regional Trial Court.
The driver, a 47-year-old resident of Batangas, is being held accountable for a tragic incident that took place on May 4. His vehicle plowed through the Departure West Curbside Area of NAIA Terminal 1, leading to the death of two individuals, one of whom was a four-year-old child. Several other people sustained injuries, and property in the area was damaged.

After the accident, airport police officers quickly responded and arrested the driver on-site. He was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple counts of physical injury, and property damage.
Despite the serious accusations, the driver was allowed to post bail on May 16. He secured temporary freedom after paying a bond of P100,000, as confirmed by the Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP).
The court proceedings are ongoing, and the case continues to draw public attention due to the loss of innocent lives and the impact on the victims’ families.
The incident has also raised concerns about road safety around airport terminals, with some calling for stricter traffic enforcement and better protective barriers in high-traffic areas.
