Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks on Outgoing Admin
ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor-elect was asked to rate his predecessor, outgoing Mayor Honey Lacuna, as the capital city’s leader.
Moreno lost in the 2022 Presidential Elections to now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos. This 2025 Midterm polls, he sought to return to the mayoralty position in Manila which he held prior to his presidential bid three (3) years ago.

The actor-turned-politician challenged the reelection of incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan along with several other mayoralty candidates. Businessman Sam Versoza also ran for Manila Mayor.
Isko Moreno said “no” to 2028 presidential run as he pledged his loyalty to Manila. He vowed that he will clean the city again. He emerged as the mayoralty election winner with a huge gap of votes from his fellow candidates for mayor.

Moreno secured 530,825 votes or 59.02 percent of the total votes as per the data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec). He is followed by incumbent Mayor Lacuna who got 190,617 votes or 21.19 percent of the total votes.

Lacuna was the vice mayor of Moreno from 2019 to 2022 prior to his presidential bid. He also supported the mayoralty bid of his former vice mayor. This 2025 Midterm Elections, the vice mayoralty position was secured by Chi Atienza, Moreno’s running mate.

Based on a report on PhilStar, several bets for councilors of Yorme’s Choice, the part of Manila Mayor-elect Isko Moreno, also won in the 2025 Elections. The actor-turned-politican claimed that the results of the election in the capital city allegedly shows a “total rejection” of the outgoing administration by the Manileños.
“The election result in the city of Manila was the total rejection of that group of people (outgoing administration) – they have no place in their hearts. Ineffective, chaotic, there’s no government and so on and so forth,” he expressed.
Moreno further claimed that the results of the election showed a total rejection of “that kind of lead and mandate”. He was asked to rate his predecessor between pass or fail.
Based on the report, Manila Mayor-elect Isko Moreno cited the Manileños in rating incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna as the head of the capital city. He believes the people are not satisfied by her governance.
“I think ‘fail’ is the answer of the people,” the Manila Mayor-elect said.
Moreno vowed to answer to the people of Manila. According to him, he will focus on making a 10-year program for the capital city.
Following his mayoralty race win, Isko Moreno claimed that he never fought against former Vice President and now Naga Mayor-elect Leni Robredo.
