PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that cloudy skies with rains are expected over parts of the country.  

On Wednesday (April 16, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.  

Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that the easterlies will continue to bring hot weather over many parts of the country.

Hot and humid weather conditions will be felt in Luzon, Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

“Kung may pag-ulan man ay dulot ito ng isolated thunderstorm, especially pagdating sa hapon o sa gabi,” Torres said.  

Thunderstorms are expected over the western portion of Mindanao, especially in Zamboanga Peninsula, South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos City, and the Bangsamoro region.

“Pero itong thunderstorms na ito ay hindi po natin inaasahan na tatagal buong araw. So asahan po natin na patuloy na mararanasan yung mainit na panahon,” Torres added.  

No low-pressure areas are being monitored for tropical cyclone formation, according to PAGASA.  

However, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible while long exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.

  • Catarman, Northern Samar

  • Ninoy Aquino International Airport – Pasay City, Manila 
  • Tuguegarao City, Cagayan 
  • Iba, Zambales 
  • Clark Airport, Pampanga 
  • Coron, Palawan 
  • San Jose, Occidental Mindoro 
  • Central Bicol State University for Agriculture – Pili, Camarines Sur 
  • Roxas City, Capiz 
  • Iloilo City, Iloilo 
  • Dumangas, Iloilo 

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. No gale warning was raised in any seaboards of the country.
