Suspicious about the open front door and gate, which were usually locked, they immediately checked the CCTV footage from the homeowners’ association. The video showed a man in a red jacket sneaking into their home.

The suspect was seen carrying the stolen tablet pressed against his stomach while holding a cellphone in his left hand. The thief took the gadgets from under the bed of their bedridden mother, who is suffering from a brain tumor.

Kyle expressed his frustration, saying it was heartbreaking that someone could steal from a sick person without any sense of compassion. However, they were also thankful that their mother remained asleep during the incident, as waking up could have led to a more dangerous situation.

The family quickly reported the incident to the barangay, where officials confirmed that the thief was not a resident of the area. Barangay authorities reviewed more CCTV footage, which helped identify the suspect as a man wearing a red t-shirt and riding a bicycle.

The police are currently investigating and have already identified a person of interest. Authorities are urging residents to stay alert and secure their homes to prevent similar incidents.
