Ahead of the former leader’s 80th birthday, his wife, Honeylet Avanceña, and youngest daughter, Kitty Duterte, arrived at The Hague.
To recall, the arrest of ex-president Rodrigo Duterte was dramatic and created a loud buzz online. The tension and emotions were high during the arrest that was served after the International Criminal Court (ICC) ordered it.
Ahead of his 80th birthday, his wife, Honeylet Avanceña, and youngest daughter, Kitty Duterte, arrived at The Hague and attempted to visit the former leader. They were spotted outside the ICC detention center in Scheveningen, where Duterte was being held.
According to Vice President Sara Duterte, the two are scheduled to visit the former leader on March 28. As for the VP’s biological mother and Duterte’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, they will be visiting either on March 28 or 29.
As much as we all know, the former leader was arrested due to crimes against humanity allegedly committed during his administration’s war against drugs. Accordingly, this has claimed thousands of lives and he is being held accountable being the leader at that time and the leader who made the order.
Meanwhile, in a previous article, Honeylet almost faced charges after she allegedly assaulted a female officer with a cellphone. The female officer sustained injury, but later on, the charges did not push through.
The involved officer decided not to go on with the case, citing that what happened was part of their job.
“Sa ngayon, bibigyan na lang namin ng Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting dahil may kasama ‘yung three days leave. Kaya ma-enjoy niya ‘yung leave na ‘yun dahil napukpok siya ni Honeylet sa ulo,” Torre said.
