Angel Colmenares, the father of Angel Locsin, died at age 98.
ANGEL LOCSIN FATHER – Angel M. Colmenares, the father of the actress, was 98 when he passed away, and his death was confirmed by his family.
Angel M. Colmenares, the father of actress Angel Locsin, has died. He was 98, and this was confirmed by the family of the actress to ABS-CBN. The cause of his death was not revealed.
“The family has confirmed to ABS-CBN News that Angel M. Colmenares, the father of Angel Locsin has passed away last March 5, 2025 at the age of 98,” shares ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
It added that the family has requested privacy as they go through this difficult time and thanked those who have reached out to them through messages of sympathy and condolences.
The actress is known for being a “Daddy’s Girl” and out of love, she even bought a beach property for her late father. This was one of her ways to give back to her father, who provided them with everything and more.
The property is located somewhere in the province of Zambales.
“Kung ano makapagpapasaya sa kanya, edi siguro in return ako naman ngayon kasi binigay niya sa’kin lahat kahit hindi naman namin kaya noon. Triny niya yung best niya na gawin happy yung childhood ko,” she shared about what she did.
One of her regrets was not being able to have his eyes operated on. She shared before that among the reasons for her stay in showbiz was to save up for his operation, but she was too late.
Her father was her swimming coach, as he was a part of the Philippine team that won a bronze medal in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay in the 1954 Asian Games, which was held in the Philippines.
During Angel’s interview with her father for a vlog, he gave her this piece of advice about marriage: “Kailangan talaga to be happy in a married life, take good care of each other every day and put Christ in the center of your life.”
