NBI Speaks on Jam Ignacio, DJ Jellie Aw Issue
JAM IGNACIO – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) explained why the businessman was not arrested over DJ Jellie Aw’s complaint.
The recent physical altercation between Jam and DJ Jellie has caught the attention of the online community. The businessman earned intense bashing online after he allegedly left his fiancée bruised.
In July 2024, rumors that Jam and actress Karla Estrada might have broken up crossed the surface. The businessman gained prominence in the entertainment industry for his relationship with the mother of Daniel Padilla.
However, in August 2024, it was confirmed that Karla Estrada and Jam Ignacio have indeed broken up as the businessman flaunted his new girlfriend — DJ Jellie Aw. In November of the same year, he proposed for marriage to the club disc jockey.
Last February 14, DJ Jellie Aw unexpectedly went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to file a complaint against Jam Ignacio over alleged assault. The incident allegedly took place inside a car as per a viral post.
The businessman apologized to his fiancée through an interview with GMA News. According to him, their fight started with a small misunderstanding which he believes was also triggered by their stress for being out the entire day and he ran out of patience.
Jam promised to never do it again. He also apologized to the family and friends of DJ Jellie as he reiterated that he really loves his fiancée. He recognized that what he had done should not be tolerated. He wants their wedding plans to push through.
However, on the part of DJ Jellie Aw, her wedding plans with Jam Ignacio will not push through as she has decided. According to her, she has forgiven the businessman but she will continue with filing a case against him.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) also explained why Jam Ignacio was not arrested. Based on a report on GMA News, NBI director Jaime Santiago said that the case is already inappropriate for an arrest without a warrant.
“Matagal nang nangyari ang kaso, di na appropriate for warrantless arrest, di ko siya aarestuhin but then dapat malaman niya na yung crime na nacommit niya ay public crime we have to file it in the prosecutor’s office, bahala na ang piskal paano titimbangin ang ebidensiyang aming isasampa,” Santiago said.
The NBI Director further said that their bureau is already out if Jam and Jellie agree on a settlement. They will have to settle it in court.
Previously, the lawyer of Jam Ignacio claimed that the businessman is still trying to reconcile with DJ Jellie Aw.
