Palawan Vlogger with Heart Condition Receives Help from Ako Bicol Party-List
A vlogger from Palawan battling congenital heart disease received life-changing assistance from the Ako Bicol party-list, led by Rep. Elizaldy Co.
During an episode of Serbisyo Publico Ni Cong Zaldy Co! on Abante Radyo 1494, vlogger Proferio “Jun” Giray, known as Jun Giray TV, shared his struggles. Despite his condition, he expressed his deep desire to return to teaching and help children achieve their dreams.
“Gusto ko pa rin makapagturo. Kahit papano ay matulungan ko pa rin yung mga batang gustong matuto, para makarating din sa kanilang mga pangarap sa buhay,” Giray said.

With the help of Ako Bicol, Giray and his wife received P800,000 for his much-needed surgery. The couple was overwhelmed with gratitude, saying the support gave them new hope for the future.
Apart from Giray, Ako Bicol also extended help to Zenaida Soriano, a 76-year-old former volunteer who dedicated her life to assisting the Aeta community. Soriano suffered a stroke in 2022, and those she once helped were the ones who rushed her to the hospital.
“Mahilig siyang tumulong sa nangangailangan noon. Nandoon po siya sa bundok, may lumalapit sa kaniyang nangangailangan, isusubo nalang po niya, ibibigay niya pa po sa nagangailangan…Kaya nung nai-stroke siya, yung mga taong iyon ang nagdala po sa kaniya sa ospital,” Rodrigo Soriano, Zenaida’s son said.
Recognizing her selfless service, Ako Bicol covered her medical expenses, check-ups, and even provided a wheelchair to aid her recovery.
Another individual who sought assistance was Elna Alih from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan. Her husband, Aldasher Alih, faced severe complications after gallbladder surgery, leading to overwhelming hospital bills.
Ako Bicol stepped in and committed to helping the family with medical expenses. To ensure continuous support, Ako Bicol organizes People’s Day every Monday at the north gate of Batasang Pambansa and every Wednesday at Barangay Hall in Brgy. 175, Camarin, Caloocan City.
