Man in Dagupan Saves P100 Daily and Ends 2024 w/ P36,600 Savings
A man from Barangay Malued, Dagupan City, turned a simple daily saving habit into an impressive total of P36,600 in just one year.
Savings is the money you set aside from your income instead of spending it right away. It’s a way to prepare for future needs, whether it’s for emergencies, big purchases, or long-term goals like education, retirement, or travel.
Saving money helps you be ready for unexpected expenses and gives you a sense of financial security. The key to building savings is to start small and turn it into a habit. By regularly setting aside even a little money, you’ll be surprised at how quickly it adds up over time.
Recently, Michael Fabroa, a Facebook user, was able to save P36,600 in just one year for saving P100 daily. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from netizens.
Fabroa, an employee of a private company, started saving P100 every single day on January 1, 2024. His method? Attaching each P100 bill to a calendar as part of his daily routine. Not a single day passed without him adding to his savings, showing remarkable discipline and consistency.
By the end of 2024, Michael reaped the fruits of his year-long commitment by carefully removing the P100 bills he had stuck to his calendar. The result was a huge sum of P36,600, a proof to the benefits of small, consistent efforts over time.
Michael admitted that saving can be challenging, especially with unexpected expenses often eating into what we set aside. However, his achievement proves that with determination and a clear goal, anyone can build their savings, even in small increments.
As 2025 begins, Michael has set his sights even higher. This year, he plans to double his daily savings to P200, aiming for an even larger total by the end of the year.
